shopping details s/s14...

marks & spencer s/s14 home collection...

The great British High Street has taken a perennial
battering, so it's good to see long-standing names
and old favourites continuing to invest in
quality design and powerful marketing.

A few months ago I attended the S/S press show
for Marks & Spencer. Women's fashion, menswear
and kids were all showcased alongside the home collection.
The women's fashion was far more runway-led
than I have seen before, with a strong bias on
 asymmetric cuts and colour blocking.

The children's wear in particular stuck a chord with
me, veering away from the garish brights
so often associated with the high street,
combining a healthy infusion of pastels,
pattern and subtle colour-pop.

Just lovely-only a shame that Evie
is in her last year of kids' clothing there-
even though she's only 11,
the 13-14 age clothes are a comfortable fit-
as with so many of the girls in her year at school.
It would be nice to see more brands address this issue,
 particularly with footwear.
Anyway, I digress..

A/W collections will be hitting the high street imminently,
but for my last S/S shopping post,
take a look at the beautiful press shots
produced by Marks & Spencer for their
s/s14 home campaign.

I love them.
Have a great Friday and weekend!

  1. M&S closed many years ago their stores in Spain and I had no idea they were carrying this home collection. The last pic is very pretty, the right wall behind a ceramics collection is so important, isn't it?
